A team dedicated to combating Human Trafficking meet with the youth of St Mary’s and youth from KZN, on the 28th June at St Mary’s parish. The team, from St Daniel Comboni parish and St Peter Claver parish organized a Human Trafficking awareness campaign targeting young people since it was youth month.

The campaign was filled with song, dance and other fun activities, The aim of the campaign was to alert young people about the three stages of trafficking; Recruitment, Transportation and Exploitation, and also to try and get a way forward in spreading the word and combating Human Trafficking.

The youth showed interest and enthusiasm, at the end of the presentation they all pledged to fight against this growing trade business by writing messages of hope and courage as a symbol of being in unity with the affected souls. Towards the end of the campaign the candles were lite symbolizing God’s light given to the world. Voices were raised as a special prayer, dedicated to everyone who was being held as a slave echoed across the hall, in a special way uniting everyone with God.
